81 year old man from Rotherham dies after a racial attack on the way to the Mosque

Mushin Ahmed passed away overnight after what is believed to be a racially motivated attack in the early hours of Monday 10th August 2015.  It is also reported that the 81 year old was walking to the Mosque for Fajr prayer (first of the five Muslim prayers of the day).

This unfortunate incident is not the first and sadly will not be the last as the hatred towards everyday Muslims in Britain is at its peak.

I am so sorry, for Mr Ahmed and for his familf, friends and community. Such violence and hatred, particularly when based on race, creed or colour just makes no sense. We are all people, sharing one earth, with hopes, fears, dreams. I wish we could see that.

My Father is 82 years old, becoming frail. Passing on my condolences to Mr. Ahmed’s family, I cannot begin to understand the mentality for hurting an elderly gentleman. It’s absolute cowardice. My father was attacked when attempting to defend a woman being hit by her partner in broad daylight, about 5 or 6 years back, so he was in his 70’s then. That was nothing to do with race, just a reflection upon society. I would like to see these criminals caught. I would like to see real measures being taken to halt these crimes, I have a disabled daughter who is victimised because she is ”different”. It seems pockets of our society here in Britain are becoming blamed, being made targets, it is almost like naziism. An elderly gentleman on his way to a place of worship has been murdered….there should be an immediate outcry for justice and the powers that be must make this happen. If not, how can we continue ? It is absolutely time for human beings to stand together. It’s not about ”having to accept differences”, there is nothing to ”have to accept” about it, we should be as one, embracing one anothers ideals, learning from eachother, as each individual is different, so we should be together. Have these murderes been caught ?
